Medical Support Assistant (MSA) – Central Texas

Emerging Tech is seeking Medical Support Assistants (MSAs) to support the Central Texas VA Health Care System
. This is an excellent opportunity to serve Veterans while working in a professional and supportive healthcare environment.

The ideal candidate is a good listener, organized, adaptable, outgoing, and an excellent problem solver. This vital role greets our patients, displays professionalism, and maintains confidentiality at all times.

• Work closely with the Lead MSA, MSA Supervisor, and Administrative Officers to assure quality control, coordinate activities, and ensure all VA scheduling policies, procedures, and metrics are achieved.

• Collaborate with Lead Scheduler and scheduling/reception team to ensure all schedulers and receptionists are competent and represent the VA positively.

• Communicate with internal medical providers regarding rules and regulations for VA Community Care and advise on appropriate processes.

• Schedule, track, and coordinate patient appointments and referrals following VA guidelines.

• Update patient demographics and process health/administrative information in VA systems such as CPRS, VistA, HSRM, PPMS, CTM
  , and others.

• Daily use of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
  .

• Respond to patient and provider inquiries courteously and professionally.

• Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support care coordination and consult processing.

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.

• Minimum 6 months customer service experience.

• Previous clinical experience is preferred.

• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.

• Oral and written proficiency in English.

• Type at least 50 WPM.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Must live within 50 miles of Central Texas VA facilities.
