Position Summary



Job Summary and Qualifications

The CT Technologist at the Freestanding Emergency Room and Urgent Care Clinic is responsible for performing CT procedures that are in accordance with standards and practice set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and Hospital Policies and Procedures. Optimizes the use of radiation by utilizing the concepts of Image Gently and Image Wisely by the American College of Radiology.

The CT Technologist demonstrates knowledge of the human structure and functions, patient care/safety, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection, medication safety (contrast) and specialized techniques. Maintains professional judgment and conduct that is complimentary of the ARRT Code of Ethics and St. David’s Healthcare Values.

Demonstrates Excellence by Consistently Produces Scans of Optimal Diagnostic Quality on Patients Ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric:
  • * Maintains thorough knowledge of the operating parameters of the scanners.
  • * Ability to operate the CT scanners and related equipment efficiently and effectively.
  • * Follows established scanning protocols.
  • * Demonstrates proficiency in scanning trauma, acute & challenging patients or situations; possess skill to modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed.
  • * Possess knowledge of disease processes and images these findings adequately; communicate them to the Radiologist.
  • * Ability to recognize and adapt scanning to pathology.
  • * Images are labeled correctly and identified according to protocol.
  • * Scans patient of all ages, tailoring the exam to the age to the age group to provide optimal images.
  • * Proficient at performing CTA scans and retrospective reconstruction.
