Job Summary and Qualifications

As an MRI Technologist, you will perform MRI scans and take radiographs according to the standards and practices set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs Magnetic Resonance procedures to demonstrate cross‑sectional anatomical images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

Responsibilities
  • You will prepare patients for procedures; provide instructions in order to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.
  • You will complete required documentation on forms, logs, workstation and Meditech.
  • You will administer contrast using proper technique.
  • You will produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients.
  • You will label images and identify according to protocol.
  • You will communicate pertinent information to interpreting radiologist in a timely manner.
Qualifications you will need
  • One–two years’ experience as an MRI Technologist – preferred.
  • Graduate of an educational program in radiology or MRI accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) OR graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology or MRI OR an American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) degree program OR military training program of equivalent standards.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT(MR)) within 6 months of hire OR certification through the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT).
