Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week with occasional evening, weekend hours and holidays. Hours may change based on business need.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public affairs, communications, political science, business, or a related field.
Preferred Education
- Master’s degree in public policy, Strategic Communications, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Four years of experience in community engagement, public relations, government affairs, or stakeholder outreach.
- Experience representing an organization in public settings and building relationships with external partners is essential.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with elected officials, chambers of commerce, nonprofit organizations, or civic groups.
- Familiarity with regional dynamics and community issues within assigned geographic areas.
- Prior experience in a public-sector or government agency setting is a plus.
Substitutions
- One year (30 semester hours) of education from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of work experience up to a maximum of 4 years.
Licenses and Certifications
- A valid Texas (or state of residency) driver s license, current proof of automobile insurance and a satisfactory driving record are a condition of employment.

You will be performing highly complex (senior-level) informational and communications work. Community Affairs Regional Representatives serve as the Comptroller’s local outreach presence in communities across Texas. Based within an assigned region, this role builds relationships with local leaders, engages community stakeholders, and represents the Comptroller’s office at public events. Regional Representatives play a key role in ensuring Texans are informed about agency initiatives and programs while also elevating local priorities to agency leadership.
Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
