General Description:Serves as a key member of the Veterans Mental Health Department, responsible for coordinating and implementing strategies that support the Texas Veterans Commission’s efforts related to Homeless Veterans. This includes developing program strategies and working with agencies involved in homeless prevention and housing resources. The role also involves collaboration with service organizations that support homeless Veterans. This position is essential in organizing and advancing TVC’s Homeless Veterans initiatives and works closely with governmental agencies, local coalitions, and community partners on cross-agency efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Represent the Texas Veterans Commission and Veterans Mental Health Department at conferences, meetings, and public events.
- Coordinate with other TVC programs to connect homeless veterans with eligible services.
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local stakeholders to align accessible resources for veterans in need.
- Collaborate with internal programs within the Veterans Mental Health Department and across other TVC departments.
- Conduct and facilitate training, workshops, and meetings in-person or virtually.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with individuals, organizations, and community stakeholders.
- Represent the state on national and regional veteran homelessness initiatives, committees, and conferences.
- Build and maintain a network of peers and professionals to exchange information and best practices related to veteran services.
- Provide training and technical assistance to service providers and partners on best practices and emerging models. Attend outreach events.
- Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Education:- A bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, sociology or other related field from an accredited institution. College transcripts are required and must be provided before an interview can be extended; it is preferred they be attached to the application.
- 5 years related experience in the job duties listed above.
- A valid Texas Driver’s License must be provided within 90 days of hire.
