WHO YOU AREA critical thinker with excellent verbal and written communication skills that will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to monitor grantees in Texas. You are a self‑starting and motivated problem solver with excellent audit resolution skills.
WHAT YOU WILL DOThe Auditor II performs moderately complex (journey‑level) auditing work. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO- Perform routine desk reviews and analyzes audit reports to ensure compliance with the Single Audit Act Amendments of 1996, Uniform Grant Guidance, Texas Grant Management Standards, Uniform Grants Management Standards and other applicable regulations and requirements.
- Reconcile audited figures against final closeout figures using Texas Workforce Commission contract managing system.
- Maintain working knowledge of Single Audit, Uniform Grant Guidance and other applicable accounting and auditing regulations.
- Review applicable laws, regulations, and procedures and keep abreast of current developments and proposed changes affecting Single Audits.
- Research applicable laws, program standards, and regulations to support resolution decisions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with major coursework in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, or a related field, plus two years of full‑time experience in:
Accounting, program financial performance, or IT auditing or, Management information systems analysis, business process analysis, contract monitoring, or positions which provided extensive knowledge of agency budgetary controls, or Administrative procedures and related state and federal regulatory laws. - Education and experience may substitute for one another.
- A license to practice as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Texas, a certificate to practice as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) will satisfy the minimum requirements.
- Knowledge of auditing/monitoring methods and systems.
- Ability to gather and analyze accurate and relevant audit information.
- Ability to compose clear and concise reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to research and analyze applicable laws, standards, and regulations.
