Base pay range$80,000.00/yr - $/yr
AboutThe Role
Lead our government relations strategy as we expand from our successful deployments in Virginia and federal agencies to nationwide adoption. You ll be responsible for navigating the complex landscape of government procurement, building relationships with key decision-makers, and positioning Vulcan as the essential AI platform for regulatory modernization.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute government sales strategy across federal, state, and local agencies
- Build relationships with governors, agency heads, regulatory officials, and legislative staff
- Navigate complex procurement processes including RFPs, sole-source justifications, and pilot programs
- Work with legal counsel to structure government contracts and compliance frameworks
- Represent Vulcan at government technology conferences and policy forums
- Coordinate with our advisory board of regulatory experts and policy leaders
- Develop case studies from our Virginia and Department of Education implementations
- Identify and pursue opportunities for executive orders and legislative mandates
- Build partnerships with government technology integrators and consultancies
- Create thought leadership content on AI in government and regulatory reform
- 5+ years of experience in government sales, government affairs, or public policy
- Proven track record of closing government contracts or passing legislation
- Deep understanding of government procurement processes and decision-making
- Existing relationships with state and federal government leaders
- Experience with regulatory agencies and understanding of the regulatory process
- Ability to translate complex AI technology into government value propositions
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel frequently (40-50%)
- JD, MPP, or relevant advanced degree preferred
- Senior leadership position with significant equity stake
