Steven Douglas has been exclusively engaged on a fantastic North American Controller opportunity in Austin, Texas. This role works in a hybrid capacity, 3 days in office and 2 days remote.
Reporting to the Global Controller, the North American Controller is a senior finance leader responsible for overseeing all accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance activities across the United States and Canada operations. This is the most impactful region for the Company. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance while supporting strategic decision-making in a complex, multi-site manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate brings deep manufacturing accounting experience, strong leadership capabilities, and expertise in multi-entity, cross-border operations.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for North America.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP (and IFRS where applicable).
- Oversee consolidation of multi-plant and multi-entity operations.
- Coordinate external audits and manage auditor relationships.
- Design, implement, and maintain strong internal control systems.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial governance standards.
- Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Lead internal audit initiatives and remediation efforts.
- Lead and develop regional accounting teams.
- Build scalable processes and drive continuous improvement.
- Foster a high-performance, accountability-driven culture.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, HR, and Commercial teams.
- Provide financial insights to support capital investments and expansions.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
- Partner with FP&A to analyze trends and profitability drivers.
- Drive ERP optimization and finance transformation initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting coupled with an active CPA license.
- Public accounting foundation coupled manufacturing industry experience.
- Minimum 12-15 years of progressive experience with 5+ years in senior leadership role (Controller, Assistant Controller, or Regional Controller)
- Significant experience in a large, multi-site manufacturing environment
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Individual who is "versatile" and "agile."
