Controller, Finance & Banking, Financial Manager

Soni Resources is partnering with a growing investment firm to hire a Controller. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both rolling up their sleeves and shaping scalable finance operations in a fast?moving, team?centric environment.

• Lead daily financial activity, budgeting, and cash planning for the management entity.
• Review monthly accounting work produced by internal team members.
• Develop and elevate accounting frameworks for GP?level structures.
• Oversee annual audits and tax?related deliverables with external partners.
• Manage compensation tracking, accruals, and internal financial reporting.
• Strengthen documentation standards and month?end procedures.
• Act as the primary liaison with the external fund administrator across multiple funds.
• Evaluate quarterly fund reporting, capital schedules, and supporting analyses.
• Oversee capital activity, including contributions, distributions, waterfalls, and carry calculations.
• Lead interim and annual fund audit processes.
• Ensure activity aligns with U.S. GAAP and partnership agreements.
• Support quarterly investor reporting and preparation of financial schedules.
• Collaborate with investment and portfolio finance teams to gather and validate data.
• Identify operational gaps, streamline workflows, and implement system improvements.
• Mentor and develop team members while contributing directly as a hands?on leader.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in private equity or venture capital finance
• Strong foundation in U.S. GAAP and private fund structures, with a track record of improving controls and operational workflows.
