Vice President, Financial Reporting

I am actively engaged on a search for a Vice President of Financial Reporting with a publicly traded financial services organization headquartered in Austin.

This is the top financial reporting seat reporting directly to the CFO, with enterprise-wide visibility and board exposure. The company operates in specialized insurance markets both domestically and internationally and has been listed on the NYSE for over two decades.

This is not a “maintenance mode” reporting role. The mandate is to elevate, modernize, and lead.

• Full responsibility for all SEC filings: 10-K, 10-Q, 8‑K, including XBRL
• Oversight of statutory and regulatory reporting within an insurance framework
• Direct partnership with the CFO on technical accounting implications and strategic initiatives
• Leadership of the reporting calendar, internal controls, and disclosure quality
• Oversight of quarterly tax provisions and coordination of income, premium, and franchise tax filings
• Collaboration with technology and finance teams on reporting system enhancements
• Monitoring of evolving accounting standards and regulatory changes
• Building and leading a high‑performing reporting team

This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring both technical depth and executive presence.

• 10+ years in public company accounting/reporting
• 5+ years leading SEC reporting functions
• Financial services, banking, industry experience required
• Experience with tools such as Oracle, Workiva, Clearwater or similar platforms

You must be comfortable operating at both the detailed technical level and the executive strategy level.

• Base salary in the mid-$200s
