POSITION OVERVIEW:

Hands‑on manager supporting MPG’s businesses and their local management teams in Austin, TX…

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Completion of the monthly financial close including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations in compliance with Dover/MPG policies and procedures
• Preparation of management and operational reports
• Improve the accuracy and completeness of financial budgets and forecasts that support the execution of MPG’s business strategy
• Safeguard company assets and reasonably ensure the accurate, complete, and timely recording of all business transactions through the maintenance of strong internal controls
• Manage the accuracy and productivity of day‑to‑day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, and cost accounting
• Perform various financial analyses to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc.
• Interact with peers to share ideas and develop best practices across the organization
• Interface with outside audit firms(s), banks, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies, collection agencies, taxing authorities, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

SUMMARY:

BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance…

Essential skills:

• Demonstrated ability to achieve quality results in an efficient and timely manner
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience
• Self‑starter with strong communication skills
• Detail oriented with excellent technical and analytical skills
• Team player with the ability to relate and interact with people at all levels in the Company
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks
• Strong ERP and computer skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Require repetitive use of hands and fingers
• Work may require some walking, standing, carrying and recurring reaching or similar activities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Work area is adequately lit, heated and ventilated.
