Job Description & How to Apply Below

Austin Community Foundation (ACF) mobilizes ideas and resources to strengthen Central Texas. We envision a vibrant and equitable community where everyone can contribute and find opportunity. ACF is committed to closing the opportunity gap in Central Texas through targeted investments in housing affordability and economic mobility.

As a trusted local partner, ACF stewards approximately $640 million in assets in more than 1,300 charitable funds. Signature initiatives—such as FundATX (impact investing) and the Housing Accelerator Loan Fund —channel flexible capital into housing affordability and economic mobility, aligning with ACF’s long-term strategic direction. Since its creation in 1977, ACF has granted more than $570 million to nonprofits across Central Texas and beyond.

Today, ACF is entering an exciting new chapter. After a decade of unprecedented growth, record grantmaking, and transformative investments across the region, ACF is poised to build on this momentum. Guided by a mission to mobilize ideas and resources that strengthen Central Texas and a vision for a vibrant, equitable community, ACF is investing in the financial and organizational infrastructure needed for its next stage of impact.

Austin Community Foundation is entering a pivotal moment in its evolution—one defined by continued growth, bold aspirations, and the advancement of its mission and vision. The incoming CFO will be a key strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership team—helping shape ACF’s long‑term financial direction and ensuring the organization is equipped to meet its growing ambitions. They will lead the financial strategy that underpins major initiatives: expanding impact‑investing programs such as FundATX , advancing the community endowment, improving enterprise planning and analysis, and increasing visibility into cost‑to‑serve and mission‑subsidy models.

They will also join ACF at a pivotal moment, contributing directly to the creation of its next strategic plan.

As ACF deepens its role as a trusted philanthropic partner—engaging donors, fund holders, advisors, and community leaders—the CFO will translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights that strengthen decision‑making across ACF. They will also support organization‑wide alignment by helping evaluate and execute strategic initiatives tied to ACF’s evolving needs, changing community priorities, and long‑term sustainability goals.

This is a compelling opportunity for a mission‑driven leader who brings both strategic perspective and operational depth. The CFO will guide a financial strategy that supports ACF’s continued growth, fosters innovation grounded in data, and enables ACF to scale its impact—ensuring that every dollar entrusted to ACF advances a stronger, more equitable Central Texas.

  • Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate staff; maintain appropriate cross-training for continuity and risk mitigation.
  • Foster a culture grounded in ACF’s values—Generosity, Local Impact, Connection, and Learning—with high accountability and collaboration.
  • Support change management and help the senior leadership team evolve as ACF grows in size, complexity, and strategic ambition.
