Financial Examiner V (Financial Analyst)This position performs highly complex (senior-level) financial work. Work involves desk reviews of insurance company financial statements to analyze assets and liabilities, operating trends, affiliated business transactions and reinsurance agreements and related documents for solvency monitoring and statutory compliance with the Texas Insurance Code and the Texas Administrative Code. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

- Travel is required up to 5% of the Time. If travel is over 10%, you must maintain state of Texas driver’s license.
- Performs analysis of complex business entities and holding company management, governance enterprise risk, capital position, financial statements, and other relevant information.
- Performs in depth supervisory/peer reviews.
- Prepares and presents professional summaries of issues, risks, and recommendations to business entities, agency management and other regulators.
- Monitors solvency with a focus on identifying current and future risks to the business, including identifying and evaluating emerging risks and stresses impacting the business.
- Distills complex information from both macro and micro economic perspectives to assess possible impact on assigned business entities.
- Communicates with business entities, agency management and other regulators.
- Prioritizes business entities and issues based on risk assessment and solvency concerns and developing clear and concise recommendations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, insurance, or a field related to this assignment.
- Minimum 3 years of continuous responsible insurance department examination experience as a financial examiner or financial analyst.
- Must hold a Certified Financial Examiner (CFE) designation from the Society of Financial Examiners.
Must be eligible for the bond-related provisions of Insurance Code Section 401.106 and take the oath required by Insurance Code Section 401.105.
Candidates must submit transcripts from all academic institutions where course credit was earned. Applications without complete transcripts will not be considered.

If eligible, the employee must have a secure, dedicated workspace with reliable broadband internet service.
