CFO, Financial Manager
Fractional CFO | ex-McKinsey | ex-Private Equity | SAAS, AI, Payments
Senior Associate – Strategic Finance (CFO Track)
Role OverviewThis role offers a rare opportunity to operate as the CFO across multiple VC-backed SaaS, AI, and payments businesses—not as an advisor, but as a hands‑on owner of the finance function. Collectively, our clients have raised more than 8 figures from top‑tier venture investors, and we work directly with founders, CEOs, and boards during periods of rapid growth and high‑stakes decision‑making.
You will sit at the intersection of strategy, finance, and operations, leveraging your consulting skillset while building deep technical finance expertise and an operator’s mindset shaped by high‑growth startups. The role emphasizes applying structured thinking in an agile environment—owning models end‑to‑end and using them to drive decisions around fundraising, cash burn, pricing, go‑to‑market tradeoffs, and ROI‑driven growth. The objective is not better analysis, but better outcomes.
AboutBearing Line LLC
Bearing Line LLC is a boutique strategic finance firm serving as CFO to leading SaaS, AI, and payments companies. We operate as embedded finance leaders—owning the finance function and partnering closely with founders—rather than providing outsourced analysis. Our approach is bespoke, operator‑led, and highly strategic, combining rigorous financial execution with agile, real‑world decision‑making in fast‑moving startup environments.
Where Strategy Meets OwnershipThis is not a traditional analytics role. You will work where analysis turns into action, and where financial insight directly informs executive decisions.

- Fundraising strategy, financial storytelling, and board‑level reporting
- Pricing, packaging, and unit economics optimization
- Hiring and org design tradeoffs, including senior leadership roles

Your work will directly shape capital allocation, headcount decisions, and company‑level strategy.
Exposure to Venture Capital & BoardsYou will have direct exposure to the venture ecosystem through regular interaction with top‑tier venture capital firms. This includes preparing and presenting board materials, supporting fundraising processes, and shaping the performance narratives investors use to evaluate teams, metrics, and capital efficiency. These relationships are a core source of our client pipeline and provide sustained insight into how high‑performing venture‑backed companies are built and scaled across stages.
