Actuary III/IV (Health Actuary)

The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) is hiring a Health Actuary to support the Financial Regulation Division. This role performs highly complex actuarial work, providing advice, analysis, and examination of insurance entities.

• Performs actuarial examinations of health insurance companies and related entities, preparing examination reports and work papers.
• Reviews actuarial opinions, supporting actuarial reports, and related actuarial analysis.
• Provides feedback, coaching, guidance, and technical assistance to others as applicable.
• Progresses toward achieving required actuarial credentials, completing relevant continuing education, and maintaining actuarial credentials.
• Performs actuarial analysis as needed for the Financial Regulation Division and the agency.
• Participates in special projects as assigned, which may include efforts on rules, legislation, and requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Mid‑Senior level, Full‑time, Finance and Sales, Government Administration. The Health Actuary role requires the ability to work under limited supervision, use initiative and independent judgment, and maintain actuarial credentials.
