We are looking for someone to support the build‑out of our core financial operations  finance team at Base is very lean, and this role will be tasked with (1) developing core planning processes and analytical models that drive the highest level strategic decisions at the company, and (2) working shoulder to shoulder with our engineers and operators as the finance partner supporting their decisions (e.g., factory build‑out, hardware design, sales & marketing).

This role has a wide scope in a complex, high‑velocity, vertically integrated business. You'll be at the heart of the action.

Base’s finance needs are growing rapidly given the business model is both capital intensive and driven by project unit economics, making this a unique opportunity for intellectually stimulating work.

• Lead strategic and financial planning processes including our supply/demand planning and an accompanying 3‑statement corporate model.
• Build out systems and processes for near‑ and long‑term demand planning across our multiple customer acquisition channels.
• Analyze and drive financial and operational performance across the company, including project‑level profitability and operating efficiency.
• Partner with other business functions to develop plans and budgets, and assess the financial impact of key decisions or new opportunities.
• Support ongoing reporting on financial and operational performance to Base’s leadership team, Base’s board of directors, and Base’s broader investor base.

• Experience in a finance role at an engineering‑led company, or in an investing / investment banking / consulting role with a desire to be an operator.
• Comfort engaging with engineering‑led systems (e.g., SQL databases) to extract financial and operational performance.
• Experience in manufacturing, energy, power, renewables, infrastructure.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
