As an Account Director
, you will take full ownership of the financial reporting and operational finance functions for your clients. You’ll plan, implement, manage, and oversee all finance, accounting, and cash-related activities, ensuring accurate reporting, timely close cycles, and strong financial operations. You’ll serve as a strategic advisor, often functioning as a fractional CFO or VP of Finance, guiding executives through decision‑making, developing financial procedures, and building the systems that support business growth.
You’ll Do
- Manage financial operations, develop financial procedures, and oversee their implementation
- Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements and monthly reporting packages for board presentations
- Serve as fractional CFO or VP of Finance, reporting directly to C‑level executives
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process
- Integrate and optimize financial technologies and systems
- Approve agreements involving financial commitments, vendor contracts, and expenditures
- Coordinate work with third‑party consultants, auditors, and tax advisors
- Manage accounting staff and provide final oversight of:
- Month‑end close
- Accounts payable
- Billing and accounts receivable
- Bank reconciliations
- Short‑term cash forecasting
- Monthly journal entries
- Perform ad hoc financial and operational analyses
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 6 years practical accounting/finance experience
- 4 years management experience in an accounting/finance environment
- Acute business judgement with ability to see the “big picture”, prioritize, and make business recommendations
- Adaptability to working independently and in team environments
- Experience driving collaboration and communication across an organization to enable success and growth
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to take action, offer recommendations, and make decisions with incomplete information
- Strong understanding of technical accounting issues and GAAP
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Proficiency in various ERPs a plus (QBO, Intacct, Sage, Net Suite)
