About Stallion Funding

Stallion Funding is a private investment firm based in Austin, specializing in short-term, asset-backed financing for real estate developers and investors. We provide fast, flexible capital for new construction and value-add projects across residential, multifamily, and commercial properties. Our mission is to empower builders and protect our investors’ capital by delivering smart, timely lending solutions.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Portfolio Manager to oversee a pipeline of active construction loans from funding through payoff
. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role at the center of our operations. You’ll be the primary point of contact for borrowers, builders, and contractors — reviewing budgets and draw requests, coordinating inspections, monitoring risk, and keeping projects on track.

This is not a back-office reporting role — it’s an opportunity to own the performance of live deals and work closely with our servicing, funding, accounting, and legal teams.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage a portfolio of active real estate-backed construction loans (typically 12–18 months in term).
  • Review and approve construction draw requests; coordinate inspections and verify progress against budgets.
  • Monitor loan-to-cost (LTC) and loan-to-value (LTV) ratios, budgets, schedules, and lien waivers.
  • Identify delays, cost overruns, or compliance issues early and recommend solutions.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for borrowers, contractors, and internal departments.
  • Maintain accurate loan servicing data and construction status updates.
  • Prepare portfolio performance reports for leadership and investor stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, servicing, accounting, and legal on extensions, modifications, or workouts.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years’ experience in construction lending, private lending, or real estate asset management
    .
  • Strong knowledge of construction draws, budgets, and project risk management
    .
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage borrower relationships.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple active projects.
  • Proficiency in Excel, loan servicing systems, and CRM tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Construction Management, or related field.
