The OpportunityWe are seeking a Portfolio Manager to oversee a pipeline of active construction loans from funding through payoff
. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role at the center of our operations. You’ll be the primary point of contact for borrowers, builders, and contractors — reviewing budgets and draw requests, coordinating inspections, monitoring risk, and keeping projects on track.
This is not a back-office reporting role — it’s an opportunity to own the performance of live deals and work closely with our servicing, funding, accounting, and legal teams.
What You’ll Do- Manage a portfolio of active real estate-backed construction loans (typically 12–18 months in term).
- Review and approve construction draw requests; coordinate inspections and verify progress against budgets.
- Monitor loan-to-cost (LTC) and loan-to-value (LTV) ratios, budgets, schedules, and lien waivers.
- Identify delays, cost overruns, or compliance issues early and recommend solutions.
- Serve as the main point of contact for borrowers, contractors, and internal departments.
- Maintain accurate loan servicing data and construction status updates.
- Prepare portfolio performance reports for leadership and investor stakeholders.
- Collaborate with underwriting, servicing, accounting, and legal on extensions, modifications, or workouts.
- 5+ years’ experience in construction lending, private lending, or real estate asset management
. - Strong knowledge of construction draws, budgets, and project risk management
. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage borrower relationships.
- Analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple active projects.
- Proficiency in Excel, loan servicing systems, and CRM tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Construction Management, or related field.
