Miller Gray is a locally owned, growing civil engineering firm based in Austin, and we are looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our team for Summer 2026
. This is a paid internship designed for a civil engineering student in their junior year who is eager to gain hands‑on experience, learn from experienced engineers, and explore a career in public infrastructure design.
Our work focuses primarily on public infrastructure projects for municipalities and counties across Central Texas
, with an emphasis on hydraulics and hydrology, stormwater management, drainage, flood control, and water quality
. This internship will also provide exposure to water, wastewater, and utility/pipeline design projects
, giving students the opportunity to build a broad technical foundation while working on real-world projects.

What You’ll Do- Support engineering analyses and design for stormwater, drainage, flood control, and water quality projects
- Assist with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for public infrastructure improvements
- Provide support on utility and pipeline design for water and wastewater projects
- Help prepare construction documents
, including plans, details, quantity calculations, and cost estimates - Contribute to a variety of municipal and public works projects across Central Texas
- Work alongside project managers and engineers in a highly collaborative, mentored setting
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Rising senior or student who has completed their junior year by Summer 2026
- Interest in hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater, drainage, or water resources engineering
- Exposure through coursework or internships to tools such as:
- HEC-RAS
- HEC-HMS
- GIS / ArcGIS
- StormCAD or other water resources modeling tools
- Experience with Micro Station is a plus, but not required
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and willingness to learn
- A positive, team-oriented attitude and interest in growing as an engineer
- Paid summer internship with meaningful, real-world project experience
