Intern – Civil Engineering

Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineering student with an interest in land development to join our civil engineering team for a full time or part time internship. This role is ideal for individuals eager to apply classroom knowledge to real world projects, contribute meaningfully to active projects, gain exposure to projects from the planning stage through to construction, and grow their technical and professional skills.
The ideal candidate is organized, a strong problem solver, communicative, and enjoys working as part of a team.
- Assist with the design and production of civil design documents, reports, and permit applications.
- Support the design team with tasks such as site planning, site grading, utility layouts, stormwater management, and plan production in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Participate in team meetings, project coordination efforts, and collaboration with engineers, architects, planners, landscape architects, and more.
- Contribute to quality control by reviewing drawings and helping maintain internal standards and checklists.
- Shadow engineering staff during field visits and construction observations to gain exposure to the construction process.
- Demonstrate initiative by asking questions, seeking feedback, and actively contributing ideas.
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering program (Junior or Senior year preferred).
- Interest in land development and site design.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Basic familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D preferred.
- Hands-on experience with civil engineering projects.
- Mentorship and guidance from experience civil engineers.
- Exposure to the full lifecycle of development — from planning to construction.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate academic commitments.
