Field Engineer

As a lead field engineer, you will be crucial to the business through the field commissioning of building automation systems created specifically for each individual customer. We seek a team member who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and acts as a role model for other field engineers. You will work to solve complex problems, lead in the training of less experienced Field Engineers, and serve as a contact in the field as a product and technical expert.

• Ensure that systems operate properly, including controls, sensors, and software.
• Diagnose and resolve complex system issues while guiding others in problem-solving strategies.
• Conduct system maintenance on field controllers, servers, workstations, and associated hardware.
• Identify and communicate technical issues, recommending necessary upgrades, enhancements, or repairs.
• Maintain clear documentation and provide status updates to customers throughout the project.
• Deliver customized training to owners and operators, ensuring a smooth transition for system upgrades and service improvements.
• Provide turnkey project delivery on medium to large projects.
• Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports.

• Expertise in TCP/IP networks, including wireless technologies.
• Proficient in explaining technical concepts to a non-technical audience in a clear and accessible manner.
• Skilled in navigating and integrating various building automation systems.
• Ability to interpret and understand Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical blueprints.
• Experience in managing multiple simultaneous challenges across various disciplines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree, Technical/Business School Certificate, or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or a related field.
• Capability of downloading, analyzing, and troubleshooting complex HVAC and building automation system logic.

The role involves working with automation, HVAC, building automation, Building Automation Controls, or BMS systems, and requires proficiency in TCP/IP, mechanical blueprints, PLC programming, boilers, and chillers. The schedule is Monday - Friday 6/7am
-3/4pm with occasional additional hours when needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
