(WJE), where we are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with 15+ years of experience (i.e., Associate Principal) to join our dynamic and diverse team of architects and engineers.

Jump right into a variety of forensic structural engineering and concrete materials projects associated with contemporary vertical construction. You will collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and other consultants to create a more resilient built world.

Responsibilities:
- Project management, including client development, project scoping, assembling and managing appropriate project teams, maintaining project schedules and budgets, and managing client expectations and deliverables
- Technical project leadership, combining a first-principles approach and creative problem solving with a deep understanding of governing codes, design guidelines, and industry practices; collaborating with interdisciplinary project teams across WJE as the structural engineering subject-matter expert (SME); leveraging your expertise for a variety of structural engineering projects, including the investigation, design, analysis, and/or repair of new and existing structural materials and systems, loading conditions, and construction types);
preparing technically excellent client deliverables; providing high-quality reviews and oversight of work by others; and performing and training others in hands-on fieldwork - Mentorship, including exemplifying WJE’s culture of shared destiny and knowledge sharing to better the team around you: locally and company-wide, formally and informally, on-and-off projects, for technical topics and overall career development
- Contributions to local and company-wide objectives, including participating in the attraction, development, and engagement of up-and-coming consultants; collaborating with other practice leaders for in-house knowledge-sharing and training initiatives; and engaging in meaningful involvement in professional organizations, conferences, and technical committees
Qualifications /
Competencies:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas, or ability to obtain by comity; SE licensure a plus
- Master's degreein civil/structural engineering or related field
- Minimum 15 yearsof relevant structural engineering industry experience, including technical and project management,with demonstrated expertise in steel and concrete (e.g., post-tensioned, prestressed, and conventional) construction; new design experience in concrete, steel, masonry, and wood a plus. The minimum years of experience may be flexible for candidates who can clearly demonstrate that they are already performing at or above the level of responsibility expected for this position.
- Excellent technical, graphical, written, and verbal communication skills
