Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in Civil/Structural or Site Engineering.
  • Experience with building design, coordination, and construction.
  • Experience implementing civil/structural engineering principles (e.g., grading and drainage, hydraulic modeling, sediment control, erosion control, or soil migration).
Preferred qualifications
  • Master's degree in chartered engineering, civil engineering, structural engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of site layout, grading, drainage, road and infrastructure layouts.
  • Knowledge of water/wastewater design, hydraulic modeling, and industry construction means and methods.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues effectively in written and verbal forms with special consideration given to online collaboration and presentations.
  • Ability to work in a team/collaborative environment.

You're a visionary who optimizes for efficiencies and never stops seeking improvements -- even small changes that can make a huge impact. You generate ideas, communicate recommendations to senior-level executives and drive implementation alongside facilities technicians.

With your technical expertise, you ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements and serve as an expert in your specialty (e.g., cooling, electrical).

As a Data Center Structural Engineer with demonstrated design, construction and sustainability experience with complex and mission critical facilities in North and South America, you will be involved in the development and optimization of large-scale data center systems with focus on application of standard product designs, development of standard product designs and optimization of designs to help meet Google's requirements and sustainability goals.

In addition to being a structural engineering technical lead, you will create several types of documents including: complex investigative assessments, critical risk assessments, critical de-risking recommendations, sustainability assessments, and presentations, scopes of work (SOW's), concept designs, design specifications, detailed integrated design deliverables, drawing markups, milestone reviews, budgets, schedules and submittal reviews.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $144,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
