OverviewAs a District Engineer, you’ll be the leader in planning, designing, and implementing measures for municipal capital improvement programs reviewing construction submittals for utility pipelines, groundwater, surface water production, and treatment facilities. You’ll ensure that projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule by utilizing submittal tracking logs, project permitting records, daily labor utilization records, records of material deliveries, and logs pertaining to required controlled inspections.
The District Engineer reports to the Area Manager.
- Develop and recommend revisions to plans and specifications to meet field conditions for projects under construction.
- Coordinate agency review of district projects and plans and obtain necessary permits.
- Review, approve, and record easement documents submitted by outside parties while performing project and construction management.
- Prepare specifications, bid documents, contracts, and program documents.
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, and blueprints.
- Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Civil, Environmental, or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Minimum ten years of construction inspection experience.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Obtain any required certifications and pass appropriate qualification tests for the position in specified time frames.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- This field job primarily operates in outdoor work environments that may include exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazards, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.
- While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee may include frequent talking, hearing, standing, moving, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, balancing, coordination, and occasional sitting or operating a company vehicle. This job may require lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
