Overview
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Lead Systems Design Engineer to join our growing EPYC CPU and AI GPU team s high‑visibility position involves driving balanced, scalable, automated solutions and contributing to product development, definition, and root‑cause resolution.
RoleAs a Systems Design Engineer, you will develop features, validation test cases, and post‑silicon infrastructure. Your expertise will drive root‑cause analysis for CPU/GPU device issues and collaborate across cross‑functional teams to improve validation and debugging tools.
Key Responsibilities- Execute feature enablement and validation test cases.
- Develop post‑silicon validation infrastructure (software, hardware, automation environment, and lab setup).
- Debug and perform root‑cause analysis for CPU and GPU device‑related issues.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop tools that improve CPU/GPU device validation and debugging.
- Perform miscellaneous lab work, including device installation, PCIe/card/riser‑board insertion, and minor board rework.
- Collect data using test equipment such as high‑speed oscilloscope and protocol analyzer.
- Report test progress and document failure analysis.
- Hands‑on knowledge of PCIe Express, root complex or endpoint with familiarity of transaction layer and link layer protocols.
- Experience with IO virtualization for large storage installations (NVMe) or other PCIe endpoint resources such as GPU or accelerators.
- Hands‑on experience with server CPU platform and comfortable executing tests on both Linux and Windows OS.
- Familiar with SoC architecture and data flow between CPU, memory subsystem and IO subsystem.
- Hands‑on debug and failure analysis using protocol analyzer, debugger, and other equipment.
- Script development using Python, shell, TCL, or PERL.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Team player able to collaborate with other team members.
- Programming/scripting skills (C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python).
- Debug techniques and methodologies.
- Extensive experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Knowledge in RAS, security, and system manageability (a plus).
- Extensive experience with board/platform‑level debugging and optimization.
- Extensive knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy.
- Strong analytical/problem‑solving skills and pronounced attention to detail.
- Self‑starter able to independently drive tasks to completion.
- BSEE/CSE/CS with 7 years of experience.
- MSEE/CSE/CS with 5 years of experience.
