Heavy Highway Project Engineer

We’re hiring a Heavy Highway Project Engineer to support large-scale transportation and roadway construction projects across Texas. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in heavy civil construction while gaining exposure to project engineering, estimating, scheduling and project controls.

This role works closely with field operations and project management teams and provides broad involvement in day-to-day construction execution, cost tracking, and project documentation.

• Track material usage, quantities, and daily reporting
• Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews
• Support work plan preparation and execution
• Compile labor timekeeping and assist with documentation
• Assist with owner communication and coordination
• Review and approve payables
• Support equipment scheduling, forecasting, and data analysis

• Review contract requirements related to scheduling and cost recovery
• Support schedule impact analysis and claims documentation
  
  Assist with requests for equitable adjustment and claim preparation
• Support negotiations with owners and stakeholders

• Assist with pre-bid and baseline schedules
• Manage progress updates, look-ahead schedules, and subcontractor scheduling
• Support change management and time impact schedules
• Assist with internal scheduling training
• Perform quantity takeoffs and estimating document control
• Identify project risks and opportunities during bid and execution phases

• ✅ Degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, Business or related experience
• ✅ Strong communication, organization and time management
