Technical Project Manager — Utility-Scale PV & BESS (PPC / Controls Delivery) Job Summary

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for delivery of Power Plant Controller (PPC) and associated controls solutions for utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage projects. This role focuses on customer success, schedule execution, scope management, and protection of deployed capital from contract award through commissioning and turnover.

The position operates at the intersection of engineering, customers, EPCs, OEMs, and internal delivery teams—ensuring projects remain aligned technically while progressing safely, on schedule, and within commercial expectations.

Core Responsibilities
  • Own project execution from kickoff through commissioning and handover for PPC and controls deployments
  • Serve as primary interface with customers, EPCs, utilities, and internal engineering teams
  • Manage schedule, scope, risks, and dependencies across engineering, procurement, configuration, and site activities
  • Identify and mitigate technical, commercial, and execution risks that could impact energization or commercial operation
  • Coordinate commissioning readiness, site support, and issue resolution with engineering and field teams
  • Ensure customer requirements and interconnection obligations are tracked and incorporated into project plans
  • Maintain alignment between contract scope, engineering deliverables, and field execution
  • Support escalation and decision-making across stakeholders when technical or schedule conflicts arise
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in technical project management, project engineering, or delivery roles within energy, utilities, or industrial infrastructure
  • Experience delivering complex technical systems involving multiple stakeholders (customers, EPCs, OEMs, or utilities)
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle execution: scope definition, scheduling, risk management, commissioning, and turnover
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary engineering environments
  • Strong communication skills with both technical teams and executive-level stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting renewable energy, power systems, or grid-connected infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with plant control, SCADA, or energy management system deployments
  • Exposure to utility interconnection processes, commissioning workflows, or energy market participation environments
  • Background working with EPCs, OEMs, or system integrators
Role Focus

This role is accountable for delivery execution and customer outcomes—not detailed control system design. The Technical Project Manager ensures the right engineering work happens at the right time, risks are managed early, and projects reach commissioning and commercial operation successfully.
