Job Description & How to Apply Below

BPPUS is the US-based arm of Banpu Power (BPP), a leading energy company in the Asia-Pacific region with a strong commitment to its “Energy Symphonics” strategy, the approach that harmonizes sustainability, innovation, and reliability in every project we deliver. As we expand our portfolio of renewable and advanced energy assets in the United States, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Manager to spearhead our entry into the utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage System market, starting with key projects in Texas.

This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team and make a meaningful impact on the future of energy.

Position Overview

We are looking for hands‑on and results‑driven Project Manager to lead on‑site execution of our utility‑scale BESS projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all phases of construction from mobilization to final commissioning, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. While the initial focus will be on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), this role offers the potential for growth and expanded responsibility over other energy assets, including solar and gas‑fired generation, as our US portfolio grows.

Key Responsibilities
  • On‑site Project Leadership:
Serve as the primary on‑site representative for BPPUS, providing hands‑on oversight and direction for all construction activities.
  • Contractor & Subcontractor Management:
Manage and direct the EPC contractor and various subcontractors, ensuring strict adherence to contract specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
  • Safety & Compliance:
Champion a world‑class safety culture on‑site. Enforce all safety protocols and environmental regulations, conduct regular safety audits, and ensure a zero‑harm workplace.
  • Schedule & Progress Monitoring:
Proactively track project milestones against the master schedule. Identify, communicate, and mitigate potential delays to ensure timely project completion.
  • Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC):
Implement and manage the project's QA/QC plan. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure all work meets or exceeds quality standards and technical specifications.
  • Budget & Cost Control:
Monitor on‑site construction costs, track contractor invoicing, and assist in the review and approval of change orders.
  • Stakeholder Coordination:
Act as the key liaison between the EPC contractor, engineering teams, equipment vendors, local utilities including ERCOT, and regulatory agencies.
  • Reporting:
Provide clear, concise, and regular progress reports to senior management, detailing on‑site status, key metrics, risks, and mitigation actions.
  • Commissioning & Handover:
Oversee the mechanical completion, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning phases of the project, ensuring a smooth transition and final handover to the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil), or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record of overseeing large‑scale energy or heavy industrial infrastructure projects (e.g. power plants, substations, utility‑scale solar/wind, or large manufacturing facilities).
  • Direct, hands‑on experience in the construction of utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
  • In‑depth knowledge of construction means and methods, safety regulations (OSHA 30 certification is required), and quality control processes.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team of contractors and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Must be willing to be based on‑site in Texas.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
