NV5 is currently seeking a Lead Electrical Systems Commissioning Engineer to join our Americas Mission Critical team and service our clients nationally as needs dictate. The successful candidate will be self‑motivated and well‑versed in commissioning, facility engineering, construction, and operations. The market served will include mission critical. Duties and responsibilities related to this position are listed below.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the technical delivery both as a project lead and technical resource for mission critical commissioning projects with minimal supervision while completing assignments that require independent judgement and evaluation.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors and other project team members.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships. Develop relationships on projects that accrue good will with our existing clients and collaborate with our management team to extend our existing relationships.
  • Develop and manage project specific commissioning plans, commissioning procedures, checklists, test scripts, and schedules for Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning activities.
  • Perform technical reviews of design documents and submittals specific to Electrical Systems.
  • Lead onsite teams to perform functional performance tests on Electrical systems.
  • Assist in providing project management and coordination to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule.
Qualifications
  • 10 years or more of progressive experience in building systems commissioning with at least 3 years of mission critical facility experience.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Experience in diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems.
  • Able to work as part of a team, think creatively, and problem solve.
  • Working knowledge and experience of electrical systems.
  • Willingness to travel 75% or more as national level projects dictate.
Considered a Plus
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • PE License or ability to obtain
  • Commissioning Certification
  • PMP Certification
  • NICET Certification
