Mechanical Project Manager - Construction

A well-established mechanical construction contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead HVAC and plumbing projects across commercial, industrial, and healthcare environments. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex, design-build and design-assist projects while working with modern CAD/BIM tools and a collaborative field and engineering team.

You will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering multiple mechanical construction projects, ensuring performance against cost, schedule, quality, and safety targets. You will work closely with field leadership, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to drive successful project outcomes.

• Manage multiple HVAC and plumbing construction projects of varying size and complexity
• Oversee project scope, schedules, budgets, and contractual compliance
• Supervise and support Project Engineers and field leadership
• Coordinate with field teams to plan labor, sequencing, and execution
• Develop and manage project budgets, cost codes, and schedules of values
• Procure materials, equipment, and subcontracted services in line with project needs
• Review contracts, subcontracts, and change orders, ensuring commercial and technical alignment
• Prepare and submit progress billings and review subcontractor payment applications
• Maintain strong cost controls, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Ensure safety standards and policies are upheld across all assigned projects
• Collaborate with design teams on design-build and design-assist projects
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and support repeat business
• Lead project closeout, warranty completion, and retainage recovery
• Manage all financial aspects of assigned projects from award to closeout
• Load estimates into project cost systems and track performance against budget
• Produce regular cost forecasts and end-of-job analyses
• Ensure billing strategies support healthy cash flow
• Manage lien processes where contract conditions require

• Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 3–5+ years of project management experience within mechanical or related construction sectors
• Strong background in HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems
• Experience delivering both new construction and renovation projects
• Familiarity with design-build and design-assist delivery models
• Proficiency with construction and accounting software (e.g., project controls, scheduling, and CAD/BIM tools)
• Strong negotiation skills, particularly around change orders and scope adjustments
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Professional, confident communicator with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
