They are in search of a Principal Hardware Design Engineer to take full ownership of high-performance system and sub-system design, from concept through production. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end electrical design of complex systems and sub-systems, including schematic design, PCB stackup, layout direction, simulation, bring-up, characterization, testing, and production release.
- Troubleshoot and resolve intricate hardware issues during all phases of the product lifecycle, with a strong focus on root-cause analysis and long-term reliability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, and product teams to deliver robust, scalable, and secure designs.
- Prepare and present detailed technical reports to internal stakeholders on design status, performance validation, and issue resolution.
- Stay up-to-date on cutting-edge component technologies and emerging standards relevant to high-speed, high-throughput computing platforms.
Required Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 8+ years.
- Demonstrated experience delivering complete board-level hardware designs from concept to production in a fast-paced product environment.
- Deep understanding of transmission line theory and high-speed signal design.
- Knowledge of high-speed interface protocols and memory technologies, including PCIe, 100
GbE, and DDR4/DDR
5. - Hands-on lab expertise using oscilloscopes, logic/protocol analyzers, and signal integrity tools.
- Skilled in schematic capture/layout using professional CAD tools (Cadence preferred).
- Familiarity with power and signal integrity simulation tools (e.g., Ansys Electromagnetics Suite).
- Understanding of Design-for-Manufacturing and Design-for-Test principles.
Nice to Have:
- Experience designing with Intel Xeon or similar x86 server-class platforms.
- Proficient in leveraging FPGAs and CPLDs for combinatorial logic implementation and system integration tasks.
- Familiarity with thermal design, mechanical integration, and compliance testing (EMI/EMC).
- Exposure to secure hardware architectures and cybersecurity applications is a strong plus.
