Electrical Silicon Failure Analysis Engineer (Contract)
Akkodis is seeking an Electrical Silicon Failure Analysis Engineer for a Contract with a client in Austin, TX. This role performs device‑level and system‑level silicon failure analysis to support high‑precision diagnostic and engineering efforts.
Rate Range: $53/hour to $56/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
- Perform daily device‑level and system‑level silicon failure analysis to identify defects and root causes.
- Conduct electrical fault isolation using a wide range of advanced EFA tools such as LIT, TDR, FIB, SEM, and laser‑based microscopy.
- Prepare detailed technical reports summarizing failure mechanisms, analytical methods used, and recommended corrective actions.
- Maintain, operate, and evaluate FA equipment while adopting new techniques to improve analysis accuracy and efficiency.
- Execute physical and electrical failure analysis at silicon and board levels, including sample preparation and micro/nano‑probing.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to resolve issues and support continuous product and process improvements.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience performing silicon‑level and device‑level failure analysis in semiconductor environments.
- Proficiency with electrical and physical failure analysis techniques, including use of advanced EFA tools such as LIT, TDR, FIB, SEM, RIE, CMP, and laser/microscopy‑based systems.
- Strong analytical, technical reporting, and problem‑solving abilities, with the capability to collaborate effectively across engineering teams.

Pay Details: $53.00 to $56.00 per hour
