What you’ll be doing

ENGINEER III

  • Conduct in-office and/or on-site engineering and technical reviews, analyses, quality control and evaluations of routine to highly complex information from internal and external customers to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures; and follow up with appropriate actions.
  • Provide information and engineering assistance concerning requests and submittals from public water systems to internal and external customers through verbal communication, email, correspondence, meetings, on-site assistance, and presentations.
  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers related to the agency’s drinking water program through verbal and written communication, correspondence, reports, meetings, presentations, and responses to Public Information Requests (PIRs).

ENGINEER IV

  • Conduct and coordinate in-office and/or on-site engineering and technical reviews, analyses, quality control and evaluations of routine to advanced (senior-level) information from internal and external customers to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures; and follow up with appropriate actions.
  • Provide information and engineering assistance concerning requests and submittals from public water systems to internal and external customers through verbal communication, email, correspondence, meetings, on-site assistance, and presentations.
  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers related to the agency’s drinking water program through verbal and written communication, correspondence, reports, meetings, presentations, and responses to Public Information Requests (PIRs).
  • Provide engineering assistance, training and mentoring to staff, and internal and external customers. Serve as a senior-level subject matter expert engineer for assigned programs/topics.

ENGINEER V

  • Conduct, plan and coordinate in-office and/or on-site engineering and technical reviews, analyses, quality control and evaluations of routine to advanced (senior-level) information from internal and external customers including advanced public water systems to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures; and follow up with appropriate actions.
  • Provide information and engineering assistance concerning requests and submittals from public water systems to internal and external customers through verbal communication, email, correspondence, meetings, on-site assistance, and presentations.
  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers related to the agency’s drinking water program through verbal and written communication, correspondence, reports, meetings, presentations, and responses to Public Information Requests (PIRs).
  • Provide senior level engineering assistance, training and mentoring to staff, and internal and external customers and assists in supervising or coordinating the work for others on specific assignments. Serve as a senior-level subject matter expert engineer for assigned programs/topics.
Key Qualifications
  • Awarded master’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or related fields from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience with analyzing engineering design, maintenance, administration, and operations of public drinking water systems.
  • Licensed Surface Water Treatment Plant Operator.
  • Experience performing public drinking water systems analyses, such as evaluation of water quality, water chemistry, or water microbial assessment.
  • Experience preparing reports, correspondence, and recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Education & Experience

ENGINEER III
  • Texas Professional Engineer’s license plus two years of full-time engineering experience beyond licensure.
