The RoleJoin a dynamic global team dedicated to integrating reliability early into the design of AMD's cutting‑edge product portfolio, leveraging knowledge of product lifecycle, to develop advanced tests for component, board, and system‑level interactions. Work collaboratively across Operations, Quality, business units and worldwide partner network.
The Person- Technical expertise in electronics/platform reliability with broad knowledge across electrical, materials, and mechanical domains, and the ability to deep‑dive into each.
- Sound knowledge of material behavior, physics of failure, electronic failure mechanisms, manufacturing assembly, and operational field issues. Proven competence in statistical analysis, DOE formulations, and dppm risk quantification.
- Strong analytical/problem‑solving skills, highly organized with attention to detail. A self‑starter and leader, able to handle ambiguity and possessing strong accountability.
- Adept at delivering results under time constraints in a technical, fast‑paced, solution‑driven work environment, and collaborating across international time zones to drive results.
- You will lead product reliability qualification of AMD graphics cards, accelerator modules, and product kits.
- Drive efficient execution of qualifications across different geographies, facilitating bring‑up/debug support, telemetry analysis, and collaborative issue resolution. Quantify risks using applied statistical methods.
- Support 2nd‑source qualifications and define qualification plans for material/process changes and programs transitioning to sustaining. Leverage FMEA, DOE, and FEA to define reliability assessment plans.
- Perform mean time between failure (MTBF) calculations for various assemblies and assess their impact on system‑level reliability, leveraging block‑diagram analysis concepts.
- Investigate/analyze issues related to manufacturing and identify opportunities for continuous improvements. Study product applications, review failure telemetry, and analyze failure modes to understand root cause and drive CIPs.
- Extensive experience in quality/reliability engineering role leading product qualifications and delivering risk assessments/results to key stakeholders and customers.
- Experience in electronics manufacturing, NPI, assembly/system integration, and reliability qualification under various product lifecycle loads. Well‑versed with issue triage/debug, failure analysis techniques, and devising experiments to solve varied manufacturing challenges.
- Datacenter platform validation experience with knowledge of liquid cooling methods; experience in networking and optics testing is a plus.
- Knowledge of PCB design, layout tools such as Allegro, review schematics, and CAD tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with JEDEC, IPC, AEC, IEC, ASHRAE industry standards, and FA techniques.
- MS/PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics engineering.
- Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) certification is nice to have.
