Project Manager, Operations Manager

Focused Energy is a fusion energy startup with the goal of generating unlimited clean energy to responsibly meet future global demand. With the use and commercialization of laser-induced inertial fusion, a clean and highly efficient power generation technology is coming within reach, suitable to ensure a secure and scalable future energy supply.

• Plan and track projects, translating technical goals into clear tasks, schedules, and milestones
• Maintain project plans, schedules, and workflows in Jira, and Confluence
• Track progress and follow up with engineers and technical leads on deliverables
• Coordinate meetings, reviews, and planning sessions; document decisions and action items
• Produce clear status updates, dashboards, and reports for division and PMO stakeholders
• Support risk, issue, and change tracking across hardware, lab, and facility-related work
• Coordinate across teams including Science & Technology, Facilities, and external partners
• Coordinate with company-wide PM efforts to ensure compliance with company-wide standards

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
• Depth of experience in project management and coordination
• Comfortable working in hardware, lab, or R&D environments
• Familiarity with Jira, and Confluence, or similar tools/technology
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple work streams
• Clear communicator who follows through and keeps teams aligned

• Background in physics, optics, or hardware development
• Exposure to laser systems, complex electromechanical systems, or lab infrastructure
• Experience with facility outfitting, construction, or test environments
• Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project management methods
