The Structural Designer will serve as a key contributor to the design team, responsible for developing structural design concepts and producing high-quality 2D and 3D deliverables. This role supports advanced technology and industrial facilities, including semiconductor manufacturing and support environments. The position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate across disciplines to deliver construction-ready documentation.
The successful candidate will take ownership of assigned scope, ensure adherence to design standards, and contribute to a collaborative, quality-driven team environment. Leadership opportunities are available for individuals who demonstrate initiative, capability, and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities and Duties- Develop conceptual and detailed 3D structural models based on engineering input, verbal direction, and rough sketches
- Produce complete sets of structural plans, sections, and details suitable for construction
- Translate engineering concepts into accurate, construction-ready documentation
- Apply client and departmental design standards consistently across all models and drawings
- Verify completeness, accuracy, and quality of all assigned work
- Coordinate structural design efforts with other disciplines to ensure integration and clash-free designs
- Take full ownership of assigned scope while meeting schedule and quality expectations
- Review models and documents for quality, constructability, and compliance
- Support and mentor team members as needed
- Embrace design automation and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and quality
- Lead small design packages and guide a small team of designers
- Assign tasks, balance workloads, and monitor progress to meet project deadlines
- Lead internal, cross-discipline, and external design reviews
- Participate in meetings and actively assist in resolving design issues
- Ensure quality standards are met, including coordination and clash resolution
- Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of drafting/design experience in the structural field
- Minimum of 3 years of Revit experience
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- 7+ years of structural drafting/design experience
- 5+ years of Revit experience
- Experience with Smart Plant and Tekla
- Experience using Navisworks and Bluebeam
- Experience designing traditional steel and concrete structures
- Experience with general industrial facilities; semiconductor-related experience is a plus
- Ability to perform occasional field walks when required, including climbing ladders, navigating tight spaces, and standing or walking for extended periods
