Power Solution engineering team in DDN is responsible for the development of innovative power system solutions which are used in AI, Datacenter, Cloud server, and other IT systems, including connectors, busbar, and cable assembly.
Role ObjectiveAs a manager of a product development team, you will be responsible for leading the engineering organization in performing research and development work according to customer requirements and the technology roadmap.
This role is remote, but we’re looking for someone based in the Austin, TX area—or open to relocating there. We’re happy to support you through the transition if relocation is needed.
What Your Background Should Look Like- Bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
- Experience with product development processes, including design, prototyping, and testing.
- Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge about various phases of product realization and product development.
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art design tools such as 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD), modeling, Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing (GD&T), electrical & electronic design, and simulation.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, molding, stamping, plating, etc.).
- Knowledge of material (metal/plastic) properties will be a plus.
- Familiarity with quality tools (FMEA, 6sigma, DOE, 8D…) will be a plus.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in product development, preferably in the technology industry, with a minimum of 3 years in the Busbar, Cable Assembly or connector-related.
- 5 years or above experience in RD team management, and global collaboration experience is required.
- Experience with data center technology and connectors/cable assembly is a plus.
- Experience in design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA), design for cost (DFC), and design for manufacturing (DFM).
- Capability and experience in presentations on products, solutions, and technologies.
- Previous experience working in high-performing multi-disciplinary global engineering teams.

- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $162,600– $243,900 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
