Overview

Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Azure & AWS) – Local to Austin, TX – W2 only.

Resource will support HHS Data Center Operations - AI & Application Platform for Excellence (APEX), cloud infrastructure on Azure and AWS. Focus on APEX cloud services (IaaS, PaaS and serverless). Build, implement, configure, monitor, administer and secure cloud services (IaaS, PaaS and serverless). HHS will leverage this resource to support cloud steady state activities and cloud migrations for HHS Data Center Operations APEX team.

This is in support of migrating and supporting HHS applications geared to be migrated to supported cloud providers.

• Support cloud infrastructure on Azure and AWS (IaaS, PaaS, serverless).
• Build, implement, configure, monitor, administer and secure cloud services.
• Support cloud steady state activities and cloud migrations for HHS Data Center Operations APEX team.
• Assist in migrating and supporting HHS applications to supported cloud providers.

• Minimum of 6+ years of experience.
• Experience in solutioning, configuring, integrating and securing cloud networking and cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Serverless) in Azure and/or AWS.
• Experience with cloud computing Dev Ops principles (CI/CD).
• Experience with containerization, deploying and configuring microservices.
• Kubernetes architecture deployment, scaling, and maintenance.
• Proficient automation using scripting (Bash, Power Shell, Cloud CLI) and third-party tools.
• Experience with declarative and imperative languages (YAML, JSON, etc.) and IaC tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
• Experience with monitoring and operations tools (Sysdig Secure, Dynatrace, AWS Cloud Watch, Azure Monitor, etc.).
• Experience with cloud recovery strategies for storage replication and automated recovery plans.
• Knowledge of cloud database services, data lakes and cloud ETL/ELT best practices.
• Understanding of cloud data services (Azure Data Factory, AWS data services, etc.).
• Experience with best practices for optimizing cloud infrastructure, troubleshooting, and security controls.
• Effective written and oral communication.

• One or more cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, Google, Oracle) or equivalent experience.
• Experience in solutioning, configuring, integrating and securing cloud networking and cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Serverless).
• Highly organized, detail-oriented problem solver.
• Experience with Texas Health and Human Services Commission or other Texas state IT agencies.
