Synopsis of responsibilitiesAs the Water Treatment & Resources Engineering Manager at the firm's Austin, Texas site, you will be responsible for all Engineering aspects of the Water Treatment & Resources site. This includes ensuring all Engineering and Project team goals meet site needs and continuously improving in these areas as the leader of a world‑class team.
In this position, you are responsible for multiple engineering teams, as well as associated contractors and vendors.
- Achieve outstanding execution and safety performance in daily 24/7 operations and maintenance of all onsite Water Treatment & Resources equipment.
- Guide project teams to develop and execute projects to expand capacity and improve safety and reliability.
- Collaborate with contractors and vendors to complete long term projects to upgrade and expand our water infrastructure.
- Champion of safety and world’s‑best performance in all work.
- Be responsible for delivering results for the Water Treatment & Resources department.
- 5-7 years in a leadership position with demonstrated increasing responsibility.
- Experience in Ultrapure water production and wastewater specifically within the manufacturing of semi‑conductors.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering Discipline (preferably Mechanical or Chemical Engineering).
- Leadership and participation in safety initiatives, programs, and activities to drive world class safety performance.
- Capital and capacity project oversight, including participating in the design and selection of equipment and options for large scale industrial electrical distribution.
- Serve as an ideal representative of the department and site to external groups and agencies.
- Support operations teams responsible for monitoring the site and responding to FMCS (Facility Monitoring and Control System) alarms.
- Support maintenance teams responsible for equipment planned and unplanned maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes requirements.
- Develop and manage annual expense budgets.
- Support commercial negotiations and establishment of terms related to services and projects.
- Continually drives group culture toward greater learning, development, and overall job satisfaction.
- Maintain headcount responsibilities and perform performance evaluations of direct reports.
- Lead engineering and contractor/vendor forums to maintain a collaborative culture of proactive safety actions and protocols.
- Drive increasing knowledge and competencies of employees to support safety innovation.
- Practice safe work habits by leading by example.
- Establish and reinforce site and team goals.
- Drive improvement through vision and effective resource management and prioritization.
- Anticipate future needs and guide the organization towards effective strategies.
- Advance and support Facilities strategies and initiatives for improved safety, reliability, and performance.
- Provide innovative and forward‑thinking to drive industry‑leading strategies.
- Provide effective representation of the department and the site for commercial and strategic considerations with current and prospective vendors and contractors.
- Represent the Water Treatment Resources Engineering Department at infra‑level meetings as needed.
- Ensure that the Water Treatment & Resources department does not violate their wastewater permit.
