Kimley-Horn’s Austin, Texas office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their Transit team! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities
  • The selected candidate will contribute to the production and delivery of transit design projects with a particular focus on Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT) projects.
  • Tasks include corridor concept development, assistance in public outreach, and transit evaluation.
  • Requires a high degree of multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are critical.
Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • 4+ years of transit‑focused engineering experience, including:
    • Transit corridor design experience, focusing on BRT and LRT modes
    • Track/guideway design
    • Roadway design
    • Station design, including park‑and‑ride facilities
  • Outgoing, self‑motivated team player
  • High level of proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience communicating and working with clients
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and detail‑orientation
  • Ability to balance priorities among multiple projects
