Kimley-Horn’s Austin, Texas office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their Transit team! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities- The selected candidate will contribute to the production and delivery of transit design projects with a particular focus on Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT) projects.
- Tasks include corridor concept development, assistance in public outreach, and transit evaluation.
- Requires a high degree of multidisciplinary coordination.
- Strong communication and organizational skills are critical.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- 4+ years of transit‑focused engineering experience, including:
- Transit corridor design experience, focusing on BRT and LRT modes
- Track/guideway design
- Roadway design
- Station design, including park‑and‑ride facilities
- Outgoing, self‑motivated team player
- High level of proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience communicating and working with clients
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and detail‑orientation
- Ability to balance priorities among multiple projects
