We’ve partnered with a cutting‑edge robotics company building next‑generation, multi‑purpose robots designed to move, think, and work safely alongside humans. As the team scales its R&D efforts, they’re looking for a Senior Simulation Engineer to focus on physics‑accurate simulation, digital twins, and real‑to‑sim / sim‑to‑real workflows that directly inform hardware and controls decisions. This role sits at the intersection of first‑principles physics, modern simulation, and production‑quality Python code.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Build and maintain high‑fidelity robotic simulation environments using modern physics simulators such as Isaac Lab / Isaac Sim or Mu Jo Co
- Develop full‑body dynamics models, contact interactions, and friction models that reflect real‑world behavior
- Create reproducible Python‑based workflows for simulation studies, validation, and deployment across machines
- Support digital twin development, connecting physical systems to accurate simulated counterparts
- Validate simulation outputs against first‑principles physics, mechanical specifications, and real hardware data
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, controls, and systems engineers to accelerate iteration cycles and improve hardware performance
- Strong foundation in physics and mechanics (Degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a closely related field)
- Comfortable working from first‑principles (e.g., Newtonian mechanics, dynamics, forces, moments)
- Experience writing clean, performant, production‑grade Python with a strong use of Num Py; experience interfacing Python with simulation frameworks
- Hands‑on experience with modern robotic simulators (Isaac Lab, Isaac Sim, or Mu Jo Co )
- Demonstrated ability to ship reproducible simulation code, not just prototypes
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant industry or research experience
- Experience packaging and shipping code so it can run on other machines (e.g., Docker)
- Experience modeling contact dynamics (collisions, multi‑body interactions, impact loads)
- Prior work on digital twins tied to physical robotic systems
- Exposure to reinforcement learning is a plus, but not a core requirement
