CAD Designer
Cel Link is developing next-generation flexible circuit interconnects that power the world’s most advanced electric vehicles and energy systems. We’re looking for a hands‑on CAD Designer with strong ECAD experience to help turn complex electrical designs into manufacturable products.
In this role, you’ll bridge electrical and mechanical design, creating high‑precision models and drawings that bring our flexible circuits, harnesses, and power distribution products to life. You’ll collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, and process engineers to ensure every design meets Cel Link’s performance and quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Design and update 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings of flexible printed circuits (FPCs), interconnects, and harness components.
- Support electrical layout and ECAD documentation using tools such as Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, or similar ECAD software, ensuring consistency between electrical schematics and mechanical layouts.
- Translate electrical design intent into accurate mechanical representations for manufacturing.
- Incorporate DFM feedback and design guidelines to ensure manufacturability and reliability.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs, fabrication drawings, and revision‑controlled data packages.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams (Design, Manufacturing, and Quality) to resolve design and build issues.
- Perform CAD data transfer and integration between ECAD and MCAD systems.
- Support prototype builds, design reviews, and release processes.
- Work effectively with teams across multiple time zones.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- 3+ years of CAD design experience, ideally in electrical, automotive, or electronics manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (Solid Works or NX preferred) and strong working knowledge of ECAD tools (Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, or equivalent).
- Experience working with flex circuits, wire harnesses, or PCB assemblies.
- Understanding of electrical schematics, component placement, and circuit routing constraints.
- Familiarity with GD&T, stack‑up analysis, and mechanical drafting standards.
- Experience managing large assembly files and integrating ECAD/MCAD data.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to documentation accuracy.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, collaborative startup environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
