SOC Emulation Engineer, AI Hardware

Overview

Join Tesla’s AI Hardware team as a SOC Emulation Engineer. The team designs AI chips that power Full Self-Driving, Optimus, and other AI‑driven automotive and energy solutions.

• Define and set up block‑level and SOC‑level emulation environments, focusing on Synopsys ZeBu.
• Architect reusable emulation test benches, integrating multi‑instance VIPs, subsystem models, and test suites at the SOC level.
• Collaborate with Design, Architecture, Verification, System Software, Firmware, and external IP teams to integrate and validate designs.
• Create goal‑driven emulation plans based on specifications.
• Review emulation and validation test plans from team members.
• Support post‑silicon validation and SOC bring‑up using emulation techniques.
• Apply knowledge of high‑efficiency SOC architecture, standard SOC peripherals, I/O, memory management, and secure boot schemes.

• 0–3 years of relevant experience (internships, academic projects, or roles in design verification or emulation).
• Solid programming skills in System Verilog, C/C++, and Python.
• Exposure to SOC integration, preferably through emulation or simulation projects.
• Familiarity with emulation platforms like Palladium or Synopsys ZeBu.
• Interest in SOC bring‑up and post‑silicon verification.
• Experience with AMBA interfaces, Ethernet, PCIe, or DDR in an emulation or verification context.
