Civil Engineer

Position Summary

Adidev is seeking a Civil Engineer who will be responsible for planning, designing, overseeing, and maintaining a wide range of infrastructure and civil‑works projects, including roads, bridges, buildings, water/wastewater systems and other public works. This role involves a combination of office‑based design and analysis as well as field‑based construction oversight to ensure project quality, safety, and compliance.

• Review survey reports, maps, blueprints and other data to plan infrastructure projects.
• Perform engineering calculations (structural, geotechnical, hydraulic, etc.) to determine design parameters, loads, and material specifications.
• Develop and/or use computer‑aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools to prepare drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Prepare cost estimates for materials, equipment, labor, and develop project budgets and schedules.
• Obtain and review permit applications, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, environmental laws, and safety requirements.
• Visit construction sites to oversee progress, ensure that workmanship and materials comply with design specifications, identify risks/issues and coordinate with contractors and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (architects, other engineers, contractors, public works agencies) to coordinate project phases from concept through completion.
• Monitor project performance, inspect completed work, make recommendations for improvements, and ensure the infrastructure meets functional and quality requirements.
• Maintain documentation of designs, changes, inspections, and project records; may present reports or technical findings to stakeholders.
• (Optional/desired) Pursue or hold professional licensure (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE) in relevant jurisdiction) and stay current with codes, standards, continuing education.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering field (Master's preferred for some roles).
• Strong technical engineering fundamentals in structural, geotechnical, transportation, water/hydraulics or related sub-disciplines.
• Proficiency in engineering software/tools (e.g., CAD, BIM, structural modelling, MS Project or scheduling tools).
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and quantitative skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to prepare and present technical documents.
• Ability to work both in an office setting and on construction sites; comfortable with site visits, inspections and field conditions.
• Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, permitting processes, and regulatory frameworks.
• Project management skills: budgeting, scheduling, coordination of deliverables, risk management.
• Familiarity with sustainability, resilience, environmental considerations and modern materials/techniques.

Combination of office work and field work (construction sites, outdoors). Full‑time positions; may require more than 40 hours per week depending on project deadlines. Relocation & travel may be required to project sites, especially if working across different locations.
