Project Delivery Leader, Transportation

RK&K is seeking a dynamic Transportation, Roadway Senior Project Manager (PM) / Project Delivery Leader to join our growing Texas team. This is an outstanding opportunity to help build, develop and lead a group of transportation engineers on current and upcoming highway planning and design projects throughout Texas and our broader company portfolio of work.

As a Senior Project Manager / Project Delivery Leader on our transportation team you will provide a wide variety of lead and support roles on various transportation/highway engineering tasks. Job functions may include:

• Lead large and multifaceted transportation design projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team-oriented environment
• Review and certify engineering plans, models and documents to meet quality control goals and standards
• Identify and develop design and route options; evaluate options to identify a recommended solution
• Mentor engineering and technician staff on transportation design tasks
• Produce and oversee development of conceptual designs and schematics
• Produce and oversee construction documents, specifications, and construction cost estimates
• Prepare for and facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and approval of plans
• Direct project staff and sub-consultants on various projects and assignments
• Serve as liaison between clients and firm
• Coordinate and develop relationships with clients, consultants, government agencies, and project staff
• Support proposal and business development efforts
  
  Manage contracts, schedules and budgets

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering program
• Fifteen (15) + years of experience in civil engineering design and/or transportation/highway engineering
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas (or ability to obtain)
• Expertise in Open Roads Designer / Microstation / Geopak / InRoads and strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong understanding of AASHTO, State and local design criteria
• Strong understanding of highway construction means and methods
• Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver large, complex transportation projects
• Ability to think strategically and solve complex, multi-faceted problems.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and develop teams
• Strong understanding of highway design standards, current software and other highway design manuals, trends and guidelines
• Strong contract management skills (negotiations, fee development, scope development and implementation, invoicing and progress reporting, etc.)

• Proven track record of winning work (preferably with the Texas Department of Transportation)
• Involvement with relevant Professional Societies
