Manufacturing Quality Engineering – Supplier Quality Engineer

Join AMD’s team of highly skilled professionals in managing the quality performance of key manufacturing partners and suppliers in the production of our leading‑edge Game Console, Graphics, Server and CPU products. This role partners with AMD Manufacturing and Procurement teams to drive suppliers proactively toward AMD quality expectations and requirements.

• Direct quality interface with contract manufacturing (CM) service providers
• Ensure CM suppliers develop and execute manufacturing control plans to meet product specifications
• Implement quality metrics to drive end‑to‑end continuous improvement
• Identify systematic improvement opportunities and work with suppliers to establish yearly long‑term improvement projects to reduce quality defects
• Drive SPC compliance and improvement to reduce out‑of‑control conditions
• Conduct yearly audits and line walks at suppliers’ factories as required
• Assess supplier quality performance through quarterly scorecards and communicate improvement direction to suppliers
• Train and develop suppliers on AMD’s quality methodologies (8D, why‑why analysis, corrective action system, change management)
• Manage customer and internal quality excursions, driving root cause and corrective/c preventive actions using 8D approach
• Record, monitor, and report supplier activities, including excursion events, to management on a weekly basis
• Provide oversight and governance of returns center processes and reporting
• Manage returns processes across a cross‑functional matrix organization
• Provide clear and timely communications to multiple stakeholders

• Experience in contract manufacturing engineering and quality is strongly preferred
• Experience setting up and managing Supplier Quality and Supplier Management processes
• Quality auditor certification (ISO
  9001, IATF
  16949, VDA
  6.3, etc.) is preferred
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with other groups to provide solutions
• Statistical analysis capability such as JMP and Power BI
• Programming skills such as Python and SQL are preferred

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or a similar background preferred
