OT Network Security Engineer

Overview

OT Network Security Engineer role at LS Power. The position supports the Bulk Electric System across multiple U.S. regions, focusing on OT security, network administration, and NERC/CIP compliance within a SCADA environment.

• Participate in a 24/7 On-Call rotation that directly supports operational control and visibility of the Bulk Electric System.
• Ensure NERC/CIP compliance and support security and operational objectives.
• Configure, update, and maintain various network devices including switches, firewalls, IPDS, and related systems.
• Support ongoing development projects and ensure security is integrated.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network security issues efficiently.
• Implement and maintain security-centric network infrastructure, ensuring visibility and threat detection.
• Analyze network logs and events to address security incidents proactively and reactively.
• Coordinate between teams in support of the Bulk Electric System.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

• 5+ years of experience in network administration within a transmission utility or SCADA operational environment.
• Strong networking concepts and connectivity knowledge.
• Proven troubleshooting skills for network security issues and log/event analysis.
• Experience maintaining security and compliance standards.
• Hands-on experience configuring and managing multiple vendor hardware.
• Certifications:
  
  Active CCNA OR CompTIA Network+ (minimum 1 year of experience);
  Active CCNP (preferred, 2+ years of experience).
• Operational technology experience within a SCADA or utility sector (last 2–3 years).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage crisis situations and emergency responses.
• 24/7 on-call experience with effective time and change management.
• Self-motivated and mission-focused.
