Austin, TX | Salary: $90,000 – $150,000 per year

Come innovate with us! Position SummarySamsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an equipment engineer who will work with a talented team of professionals. The focus is on establishing and maintaining world‑class process/equipment, implementing yield enhancement as a competitive advantage, and identifying and solving complex problems with effective solutions.
Role and Responsibilities- Monitors wafer fabrication equipment and responds to issues.
- Qualifies new manufacturing equipment.
- Coordinates scheduling of equipment qualifications and downtime with manufacturing.
- Uses software to analyze data, identify trends, and make decisions about processing products.
- Adjusts equipment parameters when exceeded and monitors process parameters when tools return from maintenance.
- Executes line changes (CPM) to process or equipment.
- Communicates technical information within the department through presentations.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- Continuously revises standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Develops improved processes to increase capability.
- Monitors operations costs and develops cost‑reduction projects.
- BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science (new graduates need 3.0 GPA or better).
- Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language.
- Understanding of statistical methods.
- Change Point Management experience and understanding of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles.
- Structured problem-solving (8D, 7‑step, etc.).
- Software data analysis tools (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.).
- Troubleshooting equipment or process failures.
- Ability to wear clean room suit and PPE; lift
