Drone Operator

Position Overview

The qualified candidate will act as an operations specialist assisting in the development and test of cutting‑edge safety‑related technologies. The role includes mission planning and lightweight maintenance duties, limited operation readiness activities, and logistics planning as needed. The candidate should demonstrate attention to detail, a safety‑oriented attitude, flexibility, and enthusiasm for cutting‑edge technology.

• Assist in development and testing of safety‑related technologies
• Plan missions and perform lightweight maintenance
• Conduct limited operation readiness activities
• Plan logistics as required

• 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
• Aeronautical Knowledge
• Jira Knowledge
• 2 years of Remote‑Control pilot experience with excellent coordination and execution
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk for 8–10 hours, and frequently push/pull/squat/bend/reach
• Experience leading small teams
• Willingness to work grave‑yard hours
• Willingness to travel up to 75 % of the year

• Experience with commercial UAS industry
• Aviation safety experience as a Safety Officer or similar
• Current U.S. fixed‑wing or rotorcraft pilot’s certificate
• Excellent business communications and reporting skills

Contract position based out of Austin, TX. Fully onsite.

Pay range: $25.00–$30.00 /hr.
