Job DescriptionWe are looking to hire a detailed‑oriented, driven, and resourceful Microgrid Mechanical Technician to assume responsibilities for multiple microgrid generators. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of performing maintenance on power generation equipment; electrical experience is a plus. The entry‑level technician will coordinate with Area Managers to ensure generators are maintained, serviced, and operated for on‑demand electricity for customers.
This is a remote field position that will report to the Area Manager.
- Perform skilled repairs of Volvo Penta Diesel Engines (16 L), Power Solutions International (21.9 L), Generac (21.9 L), and Marathon generator ends, as well as various voltage control and synchronizing equipment under supervision of senior technicians.
- Learn and utilize manufacturer‑specific software to troubleshoot and diagnose engine and control system problems.
- Facilitate technical support and liaison with equipment manufacturers.
- Perform scheduled, preventive, or predictive generator maintenance tasks.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair tasks.
- Perform periodic inspections to identify maintenance needs.
- Work in potentially confined areas of high heat and humidity, and cold.
- Follow company process and procedures for verbal/written communications.
- Utilize all current technology for communication, documentation, and research.
- Ensure safe operation of electrical equipment by enforcing company and industry standards, including LOTO and Dead Checks.
- Safely prepare, operate, and maintain motor vehicles for company business.
- Additional responsibilities may be added at the direction of Company’s management.

- Successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
- Attention to detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about it.
